BRADLEY A. MARTIN, III, AIA

Bradley (Brad) Anthony Martin III serves as Principal, Partner and President of Lyle Cook Martin Architects in Clarksville, Tennessee. A native of Clarksville, Brad has dedicated over three decades to shaping the region’s architectural landscape. His career at Lyle Cook Martin Architects spans every level of practice, beginning as a Graduate Architect in 1989, advancing to Partner in 2000, and assuming leadership as President in 2010. His foundational experience includes roles as a technical draftsman and intern architect in Knoxville, Clarksville and New York City, as well as early hands-on carpentry that grounds his practical approach to design.

Brad holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Tennessee (1988) and an Associate Degree in Architectural Engineering Technologies from Nashville State Technical Institute (1983). Registered in both Tennessee and Kentucky, he holds NCARB certification and maintains active memberships with the national, state, and Middle Tennessee chapters of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Throughout his career, Brad’s work has earned numerous accolades for design excellence, community impact, and historic preservation. Notable honors include the Architectural Woodwork Institute’s 2023 National Award of Excellence for Shelby’s Trio Restaurant, the Masonry Institute of Tennessee Award for the Workforce Essentials Office Facility, and local government awards for public space designs such as the Spur Line Trail Head and Public Park and the Upland Trail Riverwalk Extension. He has also been selected to lead major historic and civic efforts, including the redevelopment of the historic Roxy Regional Theatre to become the new Clarksville Performing Arts Center, the Pat Head Summitt Memorial Statue & Park to name a few.

Deeply committed to civic leadership, Brad actively serves on the Nashville State Community College Foundation Board, is a past member of the Clarksville Montgomery County Economic Development Council (as Chairman of the Aspire Committee), and the Montgomery County Codes Department Board of Appeals. A selection of other past leadership roles include Chairman of the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center, Board of Advisors member for the UT College of Architecture and Design, and Chairman of the Clarksville Housing Authority.

Shortly after, Tracy married her husband, Ty, who enlisted in the U.S. Army to become a Blackhawk helicopter pilot. Following his training at Fort Rucker, Alabama, they moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, where they raised their three children while Ty served at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. They now have two granddaughters.

Tracy joined Lyle Cook Martin Architects in 2005 and currently oversees production and coordination of the firm’s interior projects. Her work includes a variety of projects throughout the Clarksville area, including Workforce Essentials, Shelby’s Trio, Strawberry Alley Ale Works, Clarksville Department of Electricity, Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, Clarksville Economic Development Council, and numerous projects for Austin Peay State University and the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System.

An avid dancer growing up, Tracy has always had a passion for the performing arts. She has fond memories of attending many performances at the Roxy Regional Theatre in downtown Clarksville with family and friends. She describes her involvement in reimagining this iconic theatre as “more than just a project, but an opportunity of a lifetime” to give back to this special venue and the community she has been part of for 22 years.

Tracy is honored to work alongside Principal and Project Architect, Bradley Martin, and a talented team of design and engineering professionals contributing to the project. The City has partnered with RC Mathews Contractors as a construction management company. Together, this hand-selected team is full of talent and innovation to bring to Clarksville a state of the art, world class Performing Arts Center that pays homage, honor and respect to the original iconic downtown anchor on the corner of Franklin and First Street.
