Funding Opportunities

Tennessee Arts Commission Logo

Individual Artist Fellowship

Granting Organization: Tennessee Arts Commission

Opportunity: Fellowships provide those individuals who by education, experience, or natural talent engage in a particular art form or discipline, and live and work in Tennessee. To qualify, an artist must be financially compensated for his or her work, and this compensation must be a significant source of support for their livelihood.

These are competitive awards. Eligibility qualifies an artist to apply but does not guarantee funding. Applications are scored by out-of-state adjudicators. The Commission awards approximately 1–3 fellowships each in Craft, Media, Visual Art, Dance, Music, Theatre, and Literary Arts, at $5,000 per recipient. No matching funds are required and no specific project has to be carried out with the funds.

Arts disciplines covered by this grant program include dance, music, opera/musical theatre, theatre, visual arts, design arts, crafts, photography, media arts, literature, interdisciplinary and folk arts.
